The External Conduct Standards are a set of standards that govern how a registered charity must manage its activities and resources outside Australia. The Standards require charities to take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate standards of behaviour, governance and oversight when undertaking activities or providing funding overseas. However, the currently published guidelines do not explicitly state the protocols during plebiscites or referenda, when a law or policy is voted on rather than a candidate for office. The Register is maintained electronically by the Commissioner of the ACNC and includes specified information about each registere and each formerly registere entity. ACNC Annual Information Statement (AIS) The standard ACNC reporting period is the financial year from July to June. If your organisation operates on a financial year end of June then you are required to complete and lodge your AIS with the ACNC between July and December each year. The Guidelines do not restrict the operation of section 83C or any other provisions of the Act, or any other laws. In the event of any inconsistency between these Guidelines and the Act (or regulations), the provisions of the Act (or regulations) prevail to the extent of any inconsistency.
