The Welfare Rights Centre has launched a campaign to let new JobSeeker claimants know that help and support are available. From our five years of organizing tenants against evictions and harassment, with rent strikes, direct action, and media campaigns, we know tenants need to come together, all of us, to win the rent forgiveness we need. When tenants stand together in solidarity instead of being divided by landlords and their middlemen, we have the power to demand change.


Mission Statement: A union of tenants in the city of Ithaca, we exist to advocate on behalf of individuals as well as the entire renting community. Students and full-time residents alike are almost categorically overcharged and underserve our rights regularly violated. Together, we will match and then overcome the power of landlords to achieve the universal goals of dignity, affordability. We organize against landlord harassment, mass evictions, and displacement.

England is one of the only countries in Europe that allows private landlords to evict their tenants without having to give a reason.
